How Sprout Wild Grew

Sprout Wild started with muddy boots, sticky fingers, and one kid’s dream of becoming a zookeeper. What began as a fun family project quickly became a mission, helping more kids build real connections with the natural world through creative, hands-on experiences.

Inspired by our niece Cypress (who’s never met a bug she didn’t want to name), we created Sprout Wild to give families the tools to explore together, grow curiosity, and foster emotional intelligence outdoors.

Why We Do This

We believe learning should be joyful, messy, and rooted in the world around us, not locked behind a screen. Sprout Wild kits are designed to spark curiosity, encourage questions, and build confidence through nature-based play.

Each badge helps kids explore science, storytelling, and empathy while spending real time with the grown-ups who guide them. We’re not here to “teach,” we’re here to grow wild minds together.

    Founder, Wildlife Educator & Creative Lead

    Carly is a wildlife educator, biology graduate, and the founder of Sprout Wild. With years of experience in zookeeping, conservation, and animal behavior, she brings science, creativity, and purpose to every kit. Carly designs each badge to foster curiosity, confidence, and compassion in kids, all through meaningful, hands-on exploration.

    She leads curriculum development, kit design, and brand vision for Sprout Wild.

    Founder, Operations & Logistics

    Michael provides vital support behind the scenes at Sprout Wild. With a strong background in logistics, planning, and process management, he ensures that everything from sourcing materials to preparing kits runs smoothly and efficiently. His attention to detail and commitment to quality help bring each kit to life and into the hands of families.

    He manages shipping, materials organization, and overall operational flow to support Sprout Wild’s growing mission.

    Chief Badge Tester & Full-time Critter Spotter

    Cypress is the original inspiration behind Sprout Wild and proudly holds the title of our Chief Badge Tester. Her endless curiosity, love for animals, and fearless approach to nature shaped the earliest versions of our kits, and still drives everything we create today.

    She’s the first to test every activity and the reason we build our kits with both learning and fun in mind. If there’s dirt involved, Cypress is already halfway through the challenge.
